Sleepover and "Peter Pan's Lost Shadow"

Our friend in the pink crown, Lucy, turned 5 and had a pirate party in a park.  Right up Billy's alley!

A 1-summer kiddie pool turned quickly into a vehicle for mud-making.

We had another sleepover with Rose and Esther.  Here Eddie's showing them his new snake, Paco.  The girls were only mildly interested, but they gave him their polite attention.

Eddie is incredibly proud of this creature.  It's very docile and doesn't seem to mind being held.

We took our sleepover guests with us to Ethan's birthday party.  Ethan is in Billy and Esther's class, and his big sister, Peyton, is in the same class as Esther and Rose.  After the pool party was over, Esther and Eddie kept asking when we were going back to Peyton's.  When Esther finally understood that the answer really was "no," she said "can we go to the beach, then?"

No one made it to the end of Charlotte's Web awake, including parents.

Eddie saw a kid wearing flippers at the pool and was a perfect listener for a whole week to earn pairs for himself and his brother.  They came in the mail on Saturday evening, were discovered on Sunday morning, and never left his feet the rest of the weekend.  They worked incredibly well in the pool for both boys.  Exciting!

Note the flipper sticking out from under the blanket.

This weekend we went to the Austin Summer Musical, "Peter Pan and his Lost Shadow,"  with Rose, Esther, and our friend, Ally, who is between Eddie and Billy in age.  (Remember the photos from "Alice in Wonderland" last year?)  The kids had a wonderful time!  Billy and Ally engaged in ongoing monologues about the play and the characters, and Rose and Esther each won a prize drawing!

"Michael" had a teddy bear stamp for the autograph pages after the play.  Billy was not happy with just one teddy bear stamp.  He got multiple stamps on his sheet from the very patient actor.

The pirates were AWESOME!

"Tinker Bell," "Peter Pan," and "Shadow."

Ally with her face painted.

Rose's expression when she saw her butterfly face was fantastic!

Eddie, of course, asked for a tiger face.

Billy sat still long enough to have his face painted for the first time ever!
