Eddie is participating in a “What I learned in Pre-K” presentation on Wednesday evening, and he chose the solar system as his topic, probably because he gets to launch a baking soda and vinegar rocket! We spent some time on Saturday painting styrofoam planets and assembling them around the sun. Here’s his recitation, followed by his little brother’s rendition. Billy is extremely distraught that he does not have his own solar system, so guess what we’ll be doing at some point next weekend! I’m relieved that the model made it to school this morning without the boys fist-fighting over it or tearing it in half (it almost came to that a few times.)

The Blues
Eddie recently told his piano teacher that he likes blue, so his teacher replied with "let's play some blues." Last week I didn't have any way to record it, but at last night's lesson I grabbed my phone and took a couple of voice notes. In both of these clips, Eddie is playing the repetitive bass part. In the first, he's getting lots of help to find the notes and try to stay with the rhythem, and in the second clip he's on his own, playing C on the piano while the teacher plays harmonica. Enjoy!

Tee-Ball and Theme Parties
Eddie played his first tee-ball game on Saturday and had a great time. He got nice and sweaty!
We went out to Moonie's Burgers to celebrate the first game and Kyle learned to play "Stretchy Monkey" while Eddie and Billy had their snowcones. It was a spectacularly good day.
I just had to include these videos. The longer video is Eddie's first time at bat. It's so hard to film and watch at the same time that there are several moments when the camera is shaking or isn't pointing in the right direction, or I'm talking or laughing, but these are just too good to exclude. The second, shorter video is of Eddie running to home after his third time at bat. Hilarious. Seriously. (And no bones were broken during the filming of the clip!)
