Flipping

Eddie has been somersaulting off the diving board for several years. Here he was in 2013:

The problem is that he lands on his back. He doesn't get enough rotation. Back-flops kinda hurt. I know this from when I learned to do a flip. So every year he does a couple of back-flops, decides it hurts, and re-discovers his ability to flip the next summer.

So last night, he realized again that he could do his flip off of the side of the pool. I dragged out my camera and caught him. But then, Billy tried to do it, too, and ended up diving instead.

I got distracted filming Billy's dives. Eddie got up and did a flip (back-flop) off the diving board while I had the camera pointed at the little guy, so I begged Eddie to please do it again.

"Oh, do it again so I can take a video for Nana! If you try, I will do a flip off the board. That'll be a ridiculous sight. Don't you want to see mom make a fool of herself?"

He really wanted to see that, but then the painful memory of landing on his back kicked in and he...well, see for yourself.

He tried, so I stuck to my word and did a couple of flips off the board. Whoa. I can still do it!

"Hey Eddie, will you take a video for Nana?"

"Yeah!" He loves this task. He is quite the ham.

Dashing through the snow
on a pair of broken skis
o'er the hills we go
crashing into trees
the snow is really red
I think I'm almost dead
I wake up in the hospital
with only half my head...

...she went in! Yaaaayyyy!

I looked at the first video and just rolled my eyes. He's such a kid.

"Come on, Eddie, at least hold the camera still so Nana can see."

Fourth of July

We had a fun weekend at Nana and Woody's!
Ummmm, what is this supposed to be, WalMart?

Driving the golf cart at the Goodranch.

Eddie reading to his brother.
Another trip to Bull Creek.

The earlier you are willing to park and the farther you are willing to walk, the better the swimming spots.

We go to the Balcones pool on Thursday nights, when Canyon Vista is closed. We swim every night, never missing a beat. (Except when it rains. Or when the pool fails the chemistry test...yuck.)

I went and got a shoulder strap for my ukulele. The boys decided they like the drum kits.

Asleep in my bed.
On the way to the library.
